The Indian cricket team celebrated the nation’s 72nd Independence Day with a flag-hoisting ceremony in Nottingham on Wednesday. Virat Kohli & Co, who are currently on the tour of England, took part in a small ceremony where the skipper and coach Ravi Shastri hoisted the national flag to mark the occasion.

The entire team was present for the occasion along with the staff and in the video released by The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the national anthem was played after the flag-hoisting ceremony.
Virat Kohli delivered a small speech at the end of the video where he said, “On behalf of the Indian cricket team all the way from UK, here’s wishing everyone a very happy Independence Day. Jai Hind!”
The Indian cricket team won the T20 series but the hosts came back strongly in the ODI series and thanks to consecutive tons from Joe Root, they clinched the three-match series 2-1.
The Test series, however, has been a completely one-sided affair till now with the hosts winning the first two matches quite easily. After winning the first Test by 31 runs at Edgbaston, they completely outplayed India at Lord’s to win the match by an innings and 159 runs. The two teams will face each other in the third Test match in Nottingham starting August 18.
