IND vs WI Highlights, 3rd T20I: Arshdeep, Dhir, Abhishek star as India beat West Indies in Indore, take 2-1 lead
IND vs WI Highlights, 3rd T20I: India beat West Indies by 14 runs in Indore to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

IND vs WI Highlights, 3rd T20I: Finally, it was the bowlers who had their say. Shai Hope looked confident in winning the toss and opting to bowl first, but the Indian bowlers came with a plan in Indore and made 224 a winning total. For the first time in this series, a team has successfully defended a total. Abhishek Sharma set India up with the bat, before Arshdeep Singh and Naman Dhir helped the hosts seal a 14-run win. India now lead the series 2-1. On to Hyderabad!

Arshdeep Singh is the MoM
The fast bowler is the Man of the Match after his three-wicket haul in the game.
βIt was pretty nice, the ball was reversing a bit. It is nice when the dew is there but couldn't do it in the last game. Managed to do it today. There's no such thing as a leader or a senior. The environment is quite chill. As an international cricketer you are bound to have good days and bad days, as long as you are level-headed. I personally love it when the batters goes hard. That's when you can test yourselves and your mental strength. It's good fun. The main focus is to come early and bowl a bit with the new-ball and the old-ball. The schedule is always tight and the team that adapts early comes out on the right side of the result,β he said.

Shreyas Iyer speaksβ¦
He is happy with the bowlers, finally. "It was wonderful to see the bowlers being confident. The clarity was very much visible when I was interacting. They were ready to take up the challenge and that's what we want. It was a phenomenal start from Abhishek, and then Ishan coming and taking on the bowlers. He has been simply remarkable in the last few months. Prince came and scored some crucial runs as well. Both the grounds are high-scoring, but it's important to stick to your routines," he said.

Shai Hope speaksβ¦
He feels it was a game of margins. Hope reckons a tad better execution with the ball and a strong foundation in the powerplay would have tilted the game in their favour.
"So many things you could put your finger on. Probably with the ball, we could've executed a little bit better. So those little margins would be the deciding factor come the end of the game. The guys really finished well and gave us a good chance of chasing that score. Once you lose wickets in the powerplay, it will put you back a bit. If you get the foundation laid, it will make it easier for the others. Very small margins, 14 runs, here and there," he said.

Nayar breaks down Hope wicket
That's a wonderful analysis there. Former India assistant coach Abhishek Nayar reveals India's plan against Shai Hope, who scored a century in the 250-run chase in the previous game -- using the wide angle to cram him for room and not free himself up. That wild slog...he would have connected on any day, but not today. West Indies lost the plot thereafter.

Where West Indies fell short
Here is a phase-wise breakdown of where West Indies stood in the run chase compared to India
Overs 1-6: 87/1 vs 54/1
Overs 7-15: 87/5 vs 95/3
Overs 16-20: 49/4 vs 60/3

India win by 14 runs
West Indies got close. The early wickets and not being allowed to settle in cost them in the chase, and India take a lead in the series 2-1 with two more games to go.
Springer smashes a six and a four in the first three balls against Axar, reducing the equation down to 27 from 3, before he smashes another six over square leg and then ends the over as well with a six. But none of that is enough to get West Indies over the line. They get restricted to 209/7.

Arshdeep strikes twice in one over
He dismisses Keemo Paul and Rutherford in a space of four balls as West Indies lose the plot in the chase. That should be game for India.
West Indies 174/7 in 17.5 overs

Reddy strikes
He gets Sampson and West Indies lose their fifth wicket. Fuller and wide as the batter goes down on one knee to loft it over cover for a six. But the shot finds Tilak Varma in the deep. West Indies are in big, big trouble in this match. They are 151/5 in 15.3 overs

Sherfane Rutherford threatens
He had impressed with insane hitting in the Ranchi game. He has turned on the pressure now with a huge six down long-on against Mayank Yadav, before Sampson too hits him for a six in the same over.
West Indies 149/4 in 15 overs.
- 11 Oct 2026, 09:57:45 PM IST
Naman Dhir strikes again
Pooran finally takes some responsibility and smacks Naman for two straight boundaries. The first one was launched into the second tier at long-on, while the second was launched over long-off. It's probably down to that chat with Daren Sammy during the drinks break after Powell's dismissal.
There come another six! Three sixes in this over and West Indies bring up 100.
Oh..Naman has the last laugh yet again. Pooran looks for another six, doesn't quite get the full power. Moreover, he was cramped for room, and Arshdeep took it comfortably right near the boundary rope.
West Indies 105/4 in 11 overs

Rovman Powell departs
Pressure has been building to West Indies with Pooran struggling at the other end. Powell looked to break free from the shackles, but fails to get full connection on the delivery from Axar. He steps out, goes for the big one, but ends up slicing the ball straight to Ishan at sweeper cover.
West Indies 84/3 in 10 overs

Naman Dhir has the last laugh
Hetmyer smashes the spinner for a four, then six, but Dhir comes back in the final ball with the wicket. Same length, just hurries the batter into the shot that crammed him for space, and the ball hits his pad and then ricochets onto the stumps.

Powerplay over
Thick inside edge, and Pooran gets fortunate with a boundary down deep backward square-leg against Mayank. The bowler then goes for a slower off-cutter against Hetmyer and he wipes with disdain through mid-on for a four. West Indies seem to be slowly bouncing back. They are 54/1 in six overs.
Powerplay done. But they are miles behind. India were 87/1 at this stage. They are also behind the asking rate, which is now just over 12.

Poor over from Arshdeep
He got India the breakthrough, but got smashed for 19 runs in his second over with Hetmyer unleashing with 6, 4, 4, 1, 4 in five balls.
West Indies 35/1 in 4 overs.

Mayank creates an opportunity. He changes the angle and goes around the wicket against Hetmyer and the batter edges the shorter delivery straight to Abhishek at short third man. But he drops it.

Breakthrough for India!
Shai Hope, the man who led the 250-run chase in Ranchi, has been sent back. Wild slog from the batter, and he uncharacteristically misses the shot as the length ball nips back in to rattle against the middle stump. He goes back for 5 off 5.

And so the chase begins...
Shai Hope and Pooran get things underway for the West Indies. Mayank Yadav opens the attack for India.
There is a loud appeal on the second ball. There is a big inside edge from Pooran. The players are in two minds. Iyer feels there is a flick of the bat. India don't review.
West Indies 2/0 in 1 over

India get bowled out for 223
What a shot! Prince Yadav...that is very good thinking! Scoops that fuller one from Shamar Joseph over the keeper for a four. That is quite some bravery. Then comes another. Settles deep inside the crease, and slashes the wider and shorter delivery that goes past the slip region for a four. Shamar ends it with a terrific yorker, and Mayank had no answer to that. India get bowled out for 223.

India 210/9 in 19 overs

Tilak run out!
West Indies can't control laughing. Tilak was out by miles. Axar sees the funny side to it. He plays the fuller ball from Motie towards the on-side. They take a single, but reckon there was a boundary already. The two batters pause midway for a fist bump, but the ball is thrown back to the keeper in time. Axar realising it gets inside the crease in time, but not Tilak.

West Indies bounce back

Chase strikes again
In the same over, he gets rid of Iyer too. The India captain wants a review. On-field umpire reckons it is out. But this is close. Ball-tracker says it's smashing the middle stump. Impact umpire's call. This was a length ball, and it looked quite in his arc, but the ball slowed down a bit and hit his back leg.

He marches on even after his fifty, taking the Windies bowlers to the cleaners as India go past the 100-run mark inside the eighth over.

Desperate attempt from him to break free and India pay the price.

Two changes for India
Dew played an massive role in West Indies getting to the record chase in Ranchi, says Iyer, and hence asked his bowlers to move on and proceed into the 3rd T20I with a fresh mindset. India make two changes -- Dube and Kuldeep replaced by Reddy and Prince. Why? He explained it was down to the dimensions of the field, so a more tactical change.

Tilak Varma opens up on batting at No. 5/6
βHonestly, I haven't played much at No.4. You know, as our coach said, every batsman after... The openers are only fixed. Other than that, everyone keeps rotating. But I always say, batting up the order was my strength before, but now I got used to it since the World Cup. During the World Cup, I was batting at five and six. So from there, I was practising how I could finish the game from there. So mentally and in practice also, I have really worked hard. And yes, at the right moment, I have already said before that God is really kind, and yes, everything is going well.β

Another run-fest in Indore?
Oh yes. There is not stopping to that. In fact, 200 is the average first-innings score in Indore, which has hosted all but four T20Is. This is also the venue where Virender Sehwag scored his ODI double hundred. And among T20 centurions, besides Rohit and Iyer, the list also includes Pujara and Amla. The last time the venue staged a T20 game was in December 2024, when Gujarat scored 251 runs against Karnataka in SMAT.

Will India make any changes?
Unlikely. You can't start blaming players right away if dew has had a major factor in the run chase in the 2nd T20I. But Shivam Dube could be rested to bring in Nitish Kumar Reddy in this game. The CSK player hasn't quite had a good series so far.
