Ravichandran Ashwin is well known for break new records. However, Ashwin, who is the leading wicket-taker in Test with 72 in his kitty so far, has had a forgetful time at his home ground in Chennai.

But, this is one one record that the 30-year-old off-spinner, who is sixth in the all-time list of wicket takers from India with 248, wouldn’t want against his name. (HIGHLIGHTS)
At the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Ashwin had a solitary wicket to show for his 44 overs during which he has conceded 151 runs. This was the second time that the off-spinner has taken one or less wicket, while conceding 150 or more runs in an innings.
The first time it has happened was when Ashwin was only finding his feet in Test cricket. He wicket less after conceding 157 runs in Sydney during the 2011-2012 series Down Under.
This was also the fifth time that Ashwin has conceded 150 runs in an innings while taking three or fewer wickets in an innings. This equals the most such instances for any bowler in his first 44 Tests.
Vinoo Mankad too had five such instances in a career that lasted exactly 44 Tests. Muttiah Muralitharan is next in this list with four such instances in his first-44 Tests.
