International Cricket Council rates Dhaka outfield ‘poor’ for Australia Test

International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee Jeff Crowe submitted his report to the ICC in which he expressed concern over the quality of the outfield at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, which hosted the first Test match between Australia and Bangladesh in August.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium outfield which hosted the first Test between Bangladesh and Australia last month in Dhaka as “poor”.

ICC match referee Jeff Crowe officiated the Test match that took place between August 27 and 30, a match that Bangladesh won by 20 runs.

Crowe, in accordance with Clause 3 of the ICC Pitch and Outfield Monitoring Process, submitted his report to the ICC in which he expressed concern over the quality of the outfield.

The report has been forwarded to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), who have 14 days to provide a response.

The BCB’s response will be reviewed by ICC’s General Manager (Cricket) Geoff Allardice and Ranjan Madugalle from the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees.

Australia would go on to win the second Test match and level the series. They will now play the first match of a five-game one day international series against on September 17th.
