IPL 2017: Rohit Sharma back in action, joins Mumbai Indians’ training camp

Rohit Sharma is all set to return to the cricket field after he joined the Mumbai Indians’ pre-season training camp at the Wankhede stadium. The dashing India batsman was out of competitive cricket for five months after he sustained a thigh injury during the ODI series against New Zealand in October 2016.

Following the injury, Rohit had to undergo surgery in England which kept him out of all cricket. However, he recovered and played two matches for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy against Andhra and Goa. But, the Mumbai Indians skipper missed the Deodhar Trophy as he suffered a knee injury.

His exploits for Mumbai Indians has seen Rohit getting featured in the team’s dream XI squad in the last decade. He is present along side names like Sachin Tendulkar, Lendl Simmons, Ambati Rayudu, Parthiv Patel and Kieron Pollard. The bowler’s list is dominated by Harbhajan Singh, followed by Lasith Malinga, Mitchell Johnson, Jasprit Bumrah and Zaheer Khan.

Mumbai Indians will begin their IPL 2017 campaign against Rising Pune Supergiants in Pune on April 6.
