Nevertheless, Delhi's fortunes turned around with the arrival of Axar Patel, who was promoted to number 3, and Rishabh Pant. The duo orchestrated a remarkable recovery, forging a resilient partnership of 113 runs. While Axar reached his fifty, Pant remained unbeaten on 88, plundering 31 runs off the last over and ensuring Delhi posted a daunting total on the scoreboard. Coming to chase, Gujarat despite losing Gill early, kept up with the required rate and after a sensational tug-of-war of a game that went down to the wire, Delhi emerged as the better side of the two.
