Former captain Sourav Ganguly, who is now a part of the Indian cricket board's advisory committee, on Monday said that the BCCI is yet to formally decide on Ravi Shastri's tenure as the team director.

Ganguly said Shastri's fate will be decided in the next meeting of the BCCI.

"We don't have any news on this now. During the next meeting of the board, it will definitely be known who will be India's coach," Ganguly told reporters in Kolkata.

Asked whether Shastri had the support of all and sundry, Ganguly was curt in his reply. "The board will decide," he simply said.

Meanwhile, talking about the team combination of the ongoing one-off Test against Bangladesh at Fatullah, Ganguly supported Rohit Sharma's inclusion in the playing eleven in place of Cheteshwar Pujara.

"If Virat Kohli wants to play five bowlers then one batsman has to be dropped. In the last Test match, Rohit was in form, so its absolutely fine. In the last Sydney match, Rohit played in the same position," Ganguly said.

"He took three wickets. Hope he plays in future, then you will find out (how he has fared)," Ganguly said.

Ganguly also said that he is likely to play in the new Twenty20 competition for former international players being planned by Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne to be held later this year.
