In a rare incident, Hasan Ali blasted 55 off 33 balls as Southern Punjab eked a two-wicket win over Sindh in the ongoing Pakistan Cup 2022/23. Hasan, who walked out to bat at number 8 smashed five 4s and three 6s during the course of his innings as Southern Punjab completed the stiff 277-run chase with seven balls to spare.

Coming back to the match, batting first Sindh piled a stiff 276 on the board before running out of wickets in 48.3 overs. Opener Saim Ayub smashed a ton off 81 deliveries, while Saifullah Bangash chipped in with an unbeaten 54 off 56 deliveries.
Spinner Usman Qadir scalped five wickets, while Mohammad Ilyas picked four. Hasan also scalped one wicket and conceded 57 runs in the 9.3 overs he bowled.

Arafat Minhas also scored 81 off 78 balls, but it was Hasan Ali's blitz that drove Southern Punjab to a comfortable position.
A week ago Hasan Ali was seen getting involved in a physical altercation with the spectators during a local cricket match, the video of which had gone viral on social media. In the video he could be seen being heckled by the crowd, which later escalated into a physical altercation by the cricketer.
Hasan Ali was dropped from the Pakistan T20 team ahead of the 2022 T20 World Cup. He is also not part of the squad for their ongoing home Test series against England, having taken just five wickets in his last four Tests against Australia and Sri Lanka.
Hasan last played for Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super Four match against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka won the match by five wickets and Hasan went wicketless, conceding 25 runs in 3 overs.
