West Indies' abrupt withdrawal from their tour of India led to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) deciding in its emergent working committee in Chennai to suspend the two teams' cricketing ties.
Now, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is keen on utilising the ICC Executive Board's meeting, to be held in Dubai on November 10, to extend an olive branch to the peeved BCCI. What's more, there are takers for dialogue in the Indian board.
According to a top BCCI official, WICB president Dave Cameron will be meeting ICC chairman N Srinivasan on November 9 to apologise for the fiasco. WICB is also expected to request the BCCI to settle the matter amicably instead of pursue legal options.
While not in any mood to be lenient just yet, the Indian board is learnt to be open to dialogue. "There is a meeting scheduled with the WICB the day before the (ICC) Executive Board meeting. But that's not going to stop us from raising the matter in the ICC meeting. There is a mechanism in place through which the ICC will take the case forward," said the official, who will be attending the meeting.

However, the Srinivasan-headed ICC is unlikely to take a sympathetic view.
