West Indies vs New Zealand Highlights, Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Semi-Final: New Zealand defeated West Indies by eight runs in their Women's T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final fixture, in Sharjah on Friday. Chasing 129 runs, West Indies were restricted to 120/8 in 20 overs, despite a knock of 33 runs off 22 balls by Deandra Dottin. Meanwhile, Eden Carson took three wickets for New Zealand, Amelia Kerr struck twice. Initially, Georgia Plimmer top-scored for Sophie Devine's side, with a knock of 33 runs off 31 balls, taking NZ to 128/9 in 20 overs. Meanwhile, Deandra Dottin took four wickets for West Indies and Afy Fletcher struck twice. Both sides weren't expected to make it to the last four but defied all odds. New Zealand reached their first semi-final since 2016, while West Indies were in their first since 2018. New Zealand have never reached a final, after ending as runners-up in the first two editions in 2009 and 2010.
