Three children killed, another injured as tree falls on hut due to storm in Uttarakhand

Three children aged one, three and five years were killed and another injured after a tree uprooted by a storm fell over their hut in Mori area of Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand on Tuesday.

The tree fell on the hut in Bhankwad village around 6 pm on Tuesday killing the three children who were inside on the spot. The three were one, three and five years old, sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Purola Puran Singh Rana said.

Another seven-year-old child who received serious injuries in the incident has been rushed to a hospital, the official said. A team of state disaster response force, police and forest department has been rushed to the spot, he added.
