Saquib Nisar, who has been in custody since his arrest on September 20 last, pleaded in his petition that he should be granted bail to appear in his MBA's third semester examination to be conducted in New Delhi.

A suspected terrorist allegedly involved in the recent Delhi serial blasts does not want to give up his MBA studies despite being behind bars, and with this objective on Thursday approached the Delhi High Court seeking interim bail for appearing in an exam next month.

Saquib Nisar, who has been in custody since his arrest on September 20 last, pleaded in his petition that he should be granted bail to appear in his MBA's third semester examination to be conducted in the Capital.

"The gravity of the allegation (against him) cannot and should not bar the right of any accused to pursue his studies," Saquib, a second year management student in Sikkim Manipal University, said in his petition.

Appearing before a Bench headed by the Chief Justice A P Shah, his counsel Vikas Padora pleaded for an urgent hearing in the case as the examination is scheduled for February 7.

The court after hearing his plea agreed to hear the matter tomorrow.

The police have already filed a chargesheet against Saquib Nissar and other accused--Mohd Saif, Zeeshan Ahmed, Zia-ur Rehman, and Mohd Shakeel-- accusing them of waging war against the nation under the Indian Penal Code.

According to police all the accused who have been named in the chargesheet were also involved in the serial blasts in Jaipur and Ahmedabad.

They had visited Ahmedabad before the July 26 serial blasts under fake names which came to light during the investigations and was confirmed by examining the railway tickets and reservation chart, the police said in the chargesheet.
