1,500 seats to be filled through entrance tests in Delhi University

Around 1,500 DU seats will be up for grabs through entrance tests for admission to various courses, like Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) and BA (Honors) Multimedia and Mass Communication.

Meeting the high cutoff will not be the only way to make it to Delhi University (DU) this year.

Around 1,500 DU seats will be up for grabs through entrance tests for admission to various courses, like Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) and BA (Honors) Multimedia and Mass Communication.

The online registration for eight courses — including BA (Hons) Business Economics, Bachelor of Business Administration (financial investment analysis), BTech (information technology and mathematical innovations) and Bachelors of Elementary Education (BElEd) — started on May 13. Students can apply for these courses till May 31.

The written entrance tests for all these courses will be conducted between June 19 and 23 and the final results will be announced on or before July 4, officials said.

There are 413 seats under BMS, which are available in six colleges, including Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, Deen Dayal Upadhyay College and Keshav Mahavidyalaya. The entrance test for this course will be held on June 20.

The number of seats for BTech (information technology and mathematical innovations) is 40. The written entrance test for this course will be of two hours duration and will be based on mathematics, reasoning and analytical abilities of 10+2 levels. The entrance test will be conducted on June 23.

Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd) has 400 seats that is offered in eight colleges — including Aditi Mahavidyala, Gargi, Jesus & Mary, Institute of Home Economics and Lady Sri Ram. The written test for this course will be held on June 20.

The online registration for admission for around 54,000 undergraduate seats of DU is likely to start from May 28 and end on June 16. Admission is granted on cut-off basis for these seats.

This year, applicants for sports and Extra Curriculum Activity will also have to fill the centralised online form unlike earlier when they had to apply to individual colleges.
