Delhi: Class 6 boy confined, molested in school by classmates

A Class VI student was allegedly confined and sexually assaulted by six of his classmates, on the premises of a trust-run school in central Delhi on October 17.

After a complaint from the child, the six juveniles were apprehended and sent to a correction home.

According to the police, the incident happened during school hours when all the staff, including the principal, were on duty and present inside the building. According to the complainant, the six boys allegedly confined him inside the classroom in the last period and sexually abused him. He told the police that he tried to raise an alarm but no one came to his rescue.

The child said it was the last period for the day and the teacher concerned did not come to the class, taking advantage of which his classmates allegedly abused him. As per the complainant, the juveniles allegedly confined the student for over 20 minutes and then threatened him to not report the incident to anyone.

“The six juveniles are the classmates of the victim. Following the complaint from the child, we registered a case in the matter and apprehended the accused. Their parents were also contacted and told about the incident. The juveniles were then sent to the correction home and the matter will be heard before the Juvenile Justice Board,” police said.
