Fight on all fronts, but Trinamool is missing in action

The Trinamool, that has one cabinet minister and six MoS in the UPA, is fighting elections alone in UP, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur.

The party's lone cabinet minister - Dinesh Trivedi - has so far received no calls from the party to campaign.

Trinamool's two seniormost ministers in the UPA, Saugata Ray - MoS for urban development - and his counterpart for rural development Shishir Adhikari are also sitting idle.

"I have not yet been told to campaign," said Adhikari.

Ray added: "Why are you asking me about our campaign? I don't know anything about it. Mukul Roy (MoS Shipping) is looking after it."

Trinamool MoS in Health Sudeep Bandopadhyay is also awaiting instructions to hit the poll track. Sultan Ahmed, MoS (Tourism), however, has been given some responsibility for UP where the party wants to contest in more than 150 seats.

While the seniors are at home, Trinamool has deployed its first-time MP Derek O'Brian for the past seven days in Inphal along with youth leader Saurav Chakraborty.
