NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court on Tuesday issued notice to the lieutenant governor on a petition seeking de-notification of about 80 bighas of land in village Pooth Khurd of North-West Delhi, which was acquired by the gover nment in 2009 for construction of a 100 metre wide road.

The land owners have moved the court after their representation seeking de-notification of the land was rejected by L-G Najeeb Jung earlier this month.
A bench of justice BD Ahmed and justice Sanjeev Sachdeva has also sought response from Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and Land and Building Department on the petition filed by Residence Welfare Association of Anand Vihar Colony, Pooth Khurd. The court has also ordered status quo with regard to the title and possession of the land till next date of hearing on October 24.
