The biggest names in the food and beverages industry came together on Friday night to attend the most exciting culinary awards in the Capital.

The HT City Crystals People's Choice Awards for excellence in food and beverage have had Delhiites buzzing since the 227 nominees in 21 categories were announced.

The concluding ceremony was an apt conclusion, as the who's who of the Capital gathered at the ITC Maurya hotel to attend the awards function. From top chefs and restaurateurs to noted names from various fields, the evening was a star-studded affair.

The People's Choice Awards — conferred on 21 restaurants — were decided on the basis of more than three lakh votes, gathered via e-mail, SMS, and on-ground voting.

Capital's foodies also used social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter to garner support for their favourite eating joints. The awards were presented by a host of celebrities. Noted food critic and HT's advisory editorial director Vir Sanghvi also presented his choice of restaurants with the Vir Sanghvi Awards.

Performances by singer Kailash Kher, musician Raghav Sachar, comedian Papa CJ and dance group Sadhya kept the guests entertained. Among the notable names present at the do were FDCI president Sunil Sethi, fashion designer Rina Dhaka and classical dancer Shovana Narayan.
