Liyaqat’s probe notified

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is all set to take over the probe into the arrest of alleged Kashmiri militant Liyaqat Ali Shah by Delhi Police. The Union home ministry on Thursday issued a notification in this regard.

“We will re-register the FIR registered by the Delhi Police against Liyaqat. We will seek custody of Liyaqat to interrogate him,” said a senior NIA official.
Liyaqat was arrested near the Indo-Nepal border by the Delhi Police which claimed that it had foiled a ‘fidayeen’ (suicide) attack in the Capital with his arrest’.
