MCD works committee chairman Jagdish Mamgain on Monday expressed his displeasure over the MCD’s decision to withdraw four JNNURM projects that were to decongest traffic in Karol Bagh area.

He said residents have been complaining ever since the news came in the media and that the political representatives of MCD that directly answers to the public were not even consulted before the civic agency took the decision.
The plans that were dropped included three grade separators at Shankar Road, Pusa Road and Dayal Chowk and 20 foot-over-bridges. "When the proposals were passed, they were brought to the Standing Committee, MCD House and the works committee. I want to ask the commissioner why the projects were not brought to us before he went ahead and cancelled them," Mamgain said.
