Postage stamp on freedom fighter Jauhar released

Communications and IT Minister Kapil Sibal today released a postage stamp in commemoration of freedom fighter and philanthropist Surendra Nath Jauhar.

Communications and IT Minister Kapil Sibal on Friday released a postage stamp in commemoration of freedom fighter and philanthropist Surendra Nath Jauhar.

"Surendra Nath Jauhar life was an inspiring saga of commitment to the nation. While the first phase of his life was devoted to the cause of freedom of the motherland for which he suffered and made innumerable scarifies, the second phase was dedicated to the cause of education and spirituality," Sibal said after the release in New Delhi.

India Post is happy to issue a commemorative postage stamp on Jauhar, the minister added.
