America’s sweetheart Julia Roberts touched down at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Thursday to shoot a part of Hollywood flick Eat, Pray, Love.

Starting September 20, a spiritual part of the film would be shot in an Ashram in the traditional suburb town Pataudi, some 42 km from IGI, and erstwhile princely state of former India cricket captain ‘Tiger’ Mansoor Ali Khan, the last Nawab of Pataudi.

The Oscar-winner, who would put up at Pataudi Palace, would be filmed taking yoga and meditation sessions from Indian gurus.

Organisers are busy giving final touches to the Yoga and Meditation Sthal — the two-room house with 28 pillars, where shooting would take place.Roberts, playing the role of 32-year-old US author and memoirist Elizabeth Gilbert, would be filmed living there.

Shooting will also take place at the local grocery and vegetable market on the premises of Ashram Hari Mandir, spread over 25 acres in Pataudi.

The ashram has a Sanskrit Mahavidyalya with 500 students, hostels for boy and girl students, a hospital, a 100-bed old age home and runs educational courses.

Swami Dharam Dev of Ashram Hari Mandir said the organisers had been putting up some sets for the film on the ashram premises for some time.

“The shooting of the film is likely to continue till October 6,” he said.

The ashram has offered the filmmakers a portion of their premises where the shooting would take place, he added.

“Our Ashram would an ideal location for the shooting as there are some yoga and meditation scenes to be filmed,” he added.
