The 27.7 km-long expressway between the Delhi and Gurgaon offers the smoothest drive in Delhi and NCR. It is also one of the most dangerous.

It costs less then Rs 20 to zip from Delhi to Gurgaon, but human lives seem to cost lesser on this stretch. It has claimed 78 lives since it was opened to traffic in January 2008.
About 50 per cent of those who died in accidents were pedestrians.
There are just two subways and two foot-over-bridges for thousands of people who reside in about 12 villages, thickly populated HUDA sectors, other colonies and about 1,700 small industrial units that flank this high-speed corridor.
No pedestrian facilities
Not even a single foot-over-bridge, subway or underpass has been added to the stretch in the last one year. Iron fencing is also missing at several places.
No checks by police
There is no check on the speed limit In many accident cases, drivers were found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.
Mixed traffic
There are still no proper checks to stop slow-moving traffic from using the main carriageway. Large number of accidents on the stretch involves two-wheelers.
There is also a lack of continuous service lanes.
