A 17-year-old volunteer, scheduled to participate in the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games on Sunday, was admitted at the All-India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Trauma Centre on Saturday, after an accident.

Vishwas Kumar (name changed on request), a resident of Tikri village, slipped from the bus he was being dropped home in, after rehearsals on Friday night.
His friends and Games officials first took him to a nursing home in west Delhi and then to AIIMS. Vishwas suffered serious abrasions on his legs and a pelvic hairline fracture.
"He needs to take complete rest and will be kept under observation for the next 48 hours," said a source at the hospital. In another incident, a technical staff-member of a squash team was admitted at the AIIMS trauma centre after his blood pressure (BP) shot up to the critical level.
"He had very high BP, water accumulation in his lungs and irregular cardiac functioning. He is out of danger now," said the hospital source.
