Description:Jan Suraaj Party is a new and ambitious political party in Bihar, formally launched by strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor on October 2, 2024. The party aims to establish transparent, accountable and development-oriented politics in Bihar. Before the formation of the party, Prashant Kishor walked from village to village in Bihar for two years to communicate with the people and understand their problems. The focus of this campaign was on basic issues like education, health, employment and migration. Jan Suraaj Party announced that it will field its candidates on all 243 seats in the 2025 Bihar assembly election, and not form an alliance with any party. The party's election symbol is 'school bag', which it says reflects its commitment to education and the future. The prominent leaders of the party include founder Prashant Kishor, national unit chief Uday Singh (former MP), and executive president Manoj Bharti. The party's leadership is a mix of social diversity and experience, with representation from youth, women and various classes. Jan Suraaj Party is claiming to challenge the traditional politics of Bihar and offer a new alternative, with its main agenda being education, employment, corruption-free administration, and social justice.
