Goa Election: Benaulim Assembly Constituency 2022

Benaulim is the assembly constituency which comes under the South Goa district. It is one of the 40 Goa Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Goa Assembly Election 2022 for Benaulim was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

In Goa Assembly Election 2017, there were 28,603 registered voters for Benaulim assembly seat, out of which 13,680 were male and 14,923 were female voters. 0.7% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In 2017, 7 candidates were competing for Benaulim assembly constituency seat. Benaulim was one of 1 seats won by the Nationalist Congress Party. It was a one way contest with Nationalist Congress Party's Churchill Alemao comfortably winning the election defeating Aam Aadmi Party's Royla Clarina Fernandes by a huge margin of 5,191 votes.

The top three candidates split 83.1% of votes between them. Nationalist Congress Party's Churchill Alemao secured a total of 9,373 votes, while Aam Aadmi Party's Royla Clarina Fernandes got 4,182 votes. Independent candidate Caetano Rosario Silva bagged 3,995 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 44.4%, 19.8% and 18.9% respectively.

In Goa Assembly election 2012, Goa Vikas Party's Caetano R. Silva defeated Indian National Congress's Valanka Alemao by 2,001 votes.
