Goa Election: Calangute Assembly Constituency 2022

Calangute is one of the 40 Goa Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the North Goa district. People of Calangute voted for Goa Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

In Goa Assembly Election 2017, there were 24,541 registered voters for Calangute assembly seat, out of which 12,030 were male and 12,511 were female voters. 0.7% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Goa Legislative Assembly Election, there were 3 candidates in the fray from Calangute constituency. Calangute was one of 13 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Michael Vincent Lobo won the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Joseph Robert Sequeira by a margin of 3,825 votes.

92.6% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Michael Vincent Lobo got a total of 11,136 votes, while Indian National Congress's Joseph Robert Sequeira got 7,311 votes. Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Godwin Fernandes grabbed 1,465 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 55.9%, 36.7% and 7.4% respectively.

In Goa Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Michael Vincent Lobo outperformed Indian National Congress's Agnelo Nicholas Fernandes by 1,869 votes.
