Goa Election: Maem Assembly Constituency 2022

Maem comes under the North Goa district and it is one of the 40 Goa Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Maem voted for Goa Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

Maem assembly constituency had 27,097 electors in 2017, out of which 13,378 were male voters and 13,719 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 1.4% votes.

What happened last time

In 2017, 8 candidates were competing for Maem assembly constituency seat. Maem was one of 13 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Pravin Zantye comfortably winning the election defeating Indian National Congress's Santosh Kumar Sawant by a huge margin of 4,974 votes.

83.8% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Pravin Zantye got a total of 12,430 votes, while Indian National Congress's Santosh Kumar Sawant got 7,456 votes. Goa Suraksha Manch's candidate Atmaram Vaman Gaonker grabbed 2,317 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 52.4%, 31.4% and 9.8% respectively.

In Goa Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Anant Shet outperformed independent candidate Pravin Zantye by 5,719 votes.
