Karnataka Election: Gangawati Assembly Constituency 2023

Gangawati is the assembly constituency which comes under the Koppal district. It is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for Gangawati will be held on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.

What happened last time

In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Gangawati constituency had 12 candidates for assembly seat contention. Gangawati was one of 104 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Paranna Eshwarappa Munavalli won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Iqbal Ansari by a margin of 7,973 votes.

The top two candidates split 87.4% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Paranna Eshwarappa Munavalli got a total of 67,617 votes, while Indian National Congress's Iqbal Ansari secured 59,644 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Kariyanna Sangati secured 14,161 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 46.4%, 40.9% and 9.7% respectively.

In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Janata Dal (Secular)'s Iqbal Ansari beat Bharatiya Janata Party's Paranna Eshwarappa Munavalli by 29,789 votes.
