Karnataka Election: Kanakagiri Assembly Constituency 2023

Kanakagiri is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Koppal district. People of Kanakagiri voted for Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.

Bharatiya Janata Party's Basavaraj Dadesugur won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Shivaraj Sangappa Tangadagi by a margin of 14,225 votes.

The top two candidates split 97.2% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Basavaraj Dadesugur got a total of 87,735 votes, while Indian National Congress's Shivaraj Sangappa Tangadagi secured 73,510 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Manjula Ravikumar secured 1,464 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 52.9%, 44.3% and 0.9% respectively.

In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's Shivaraj Sangappa Tangadagi outperformed Karnataka Jantha Paksha's Basavaraj Dadhesuguru by 5,052 votes.
