Karnataka Election: Sindhanur Assembly Constituency 2023

Sindhanur is the assembly constituency which comes under the Raichur district. It is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for Sindhanur will be held on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.

Sindhanur assembly constituency had 2,28,677 electors in 2018, out of which 1,12,883 were male voters and 1,15,754 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.

What happened last time

In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Sindhanur constituency had 17 candidates for assembly seat contention. Sindhanur was one of 37 seats won by the Janata Dal (Secular). It was a close contest with Janata Dal (Secular)'s Venkatrao Nadagouda winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Badarli Hampangouda by a margin of just 1,597 votes.

The top two candidates split 87.2% of votes between them. Janata Dal (Secular)'s Venkatrao Nadagouda got a total of 71,514 votes, while Indian National Congress's Badarli Hampangouda secured 69,917 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Kolla Sheshagirirao secured 14,795 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 44.1%, 43.1% and 9.1% respectively.

In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's Badarli Hampanagouda beat Badavara Shramikara Raitara Congress Party's K.Kariyappa by 13,016 votes.
