Yelburga is the assembly constituency which comes under the Koppal district. It is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for Yelburga will be held on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
Yelburga assembly constituency had 2,04,526 electors in 2018, out of which 1,03,313 were male voters and 1,01,209 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.7% votes.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Yelburga constituency had 11 candidates for assembly seat contention. Yelburga was one of 104 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Achar Halappa Basappa won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Basavaraj Rayareddi by a margin of 13,318 votes.
The top two candidates split 88.8% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Achar Halappa Basappa got a total of 79,072 votes, while Indian National Congress's Basavaraj Rayareddi secured 65,754 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Veeranagouda Police Patil Ballutagi secured 14,591 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 48.5%, 40.3% and 8.9% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's Basavaraj Rayaraddy outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Achar Halappa Basappa by 16,900 votes.
