Manipur Election: Andro Assembly Constituency 2022

Andro comes under the Imphal district and it is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Andro voted for Manipur Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.

In Manipur Assembly Election 2017, there were 33,075 registered voters for Andro assembly seat, out of which 16,082 were male and 16,993 were female voters. 0.5% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election, there were 3 candidates in the fray from Andro constituency. Andro was one of 28 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a one way contest with Indian National Congress's Thounaojam Shyamkumar comfortably winning the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Nimaichand Luwang by a huge margin of 7,986 votes.

The top two candidates split 99.5% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Thounaojam Shyamkumar got a total of 18,761 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Nimaichand Luwang secured 10,775 votes. Manipur National Democratic Front's candidate Keisham Ningthemjao Singh secured 162 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 63.2%, 36.3% and 0.5% respectively.

In Manipur Assembly election 2012, All India Trinamool Congress's Thounaojam Shyamkumar defeated Indian National Congress's Alhaj Md. Ahamed Ali by 10,432 votes.
