Bharatiya Janata Party's Nongthombam Biren Singh got a total of 10,439 votes, while All India Trinamool Congress's Pangeijam Saratchandra Singh secured 9,233 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Naoroibam Ratan Meetei (KAPU) grabbed the third spot with 7,329 votes. The top three parties got 38.3%, 33.9% and 26.9% respectively.
In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's N. Biren outperformed Nationalist Congress Party's Naoroibam Ratan Kapu Meetei by 2,082 votes.
