Kumbi is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Bishnupur district. People of Kumbi voted for Manipur Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Kumbi assembly seat had 26,032 registered voters. Of the, 12,962 were male and 13,070 were female voters. 0.5% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the 2017 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election, there were 4 candidates in the fray from Kumbi constituency. Kumbi was one of 28 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Sanasam Bira Singh won the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Ningthoujam Mangi by a margin of 1,311 votes.
The top two candidates split 94.8% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Sanasam Bira Singh got a total of 11,881 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Ningthoujam Mangi secured 10,570 votes. Lok Jan Shakti Party's candidate Ningombam Ibohal Meitei secured 1,057 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 50.2%, 44.6% and 4.5% respectively.
In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Sanasam Bira Singh beat Communist Party Of India's Ningthoujam Mangi by 1,015 votes.
