K Chandrashekar Rao is the chief minister of Telangana and the founder of BRS. He represents Telangana's Gajwel Assembly constituency, which is part of Medak Lok Sabha constituency. It is located 64 kilometers from Hyderabad. In 2018, KCR polled 125,444 votes and defeated the Congress party's Pratap Reddy Vanteru (67,154). With 3353 votes, Independent Kante Sayanna came third. The Kamareddy Assembly constituency of the Telangana legislative assembly is one of the four seats in the state's Kamareddy district. It is part of the Zaheerabad Lok Sabha. TRS (now BRS) has been a dominant force on the seat. The party's Gampa Govardhan won the election in 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2018. In 2018, Govardhan defeated Congress party's Mohammed Ali Shabbir by a narrow margin. In 2023, K Chandrashekar Rao is contesting against Congress stalwart Revanth Reddy.
