Uttarakhand Election: Badrinath Assembly Constituency 2022

Badrinath is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Chamoli district. People of Badrinath voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Badrinath assembly seat had 1,00,897 registered voters. Of the, 52,858 were male and 48,039 were female voters. 0.7% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election, there were 9 candidates in the fray from Badrinath constituency. Badrinath was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Mahendra Bhatt won the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Rajendra Singh Bhandari by a margin of 5,634 votes.

85.7% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Mahendra Bhatt got a total of 29,676 votes, while Indian National Congress's Rajendra Singh Bhandari got 24,042 votes. Communist Party Of India's candidate Bharat Singh Kunwar grabbed 2,380 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 47.3%, 38.3% and 3.8% respectively.

In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Rajendra Singh Bhandri outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Prem Ballabh Bhatt by 10,201 votes.
