All India Trinamool Congress's Rajib Lochan Saren won the election upstaging Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Besra Susanta by a margin of 20,307 votes.
88.0% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. All India Trinamool Congress's Rajib Lochan Saren got a total of 1,04,323 votes, while Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Besra Susanta got 84,016 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Labsen Baskey grabbed 14,371 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 48.7%, 39.2% and 6.7% respectively.
In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s Besra Susanta defeated Indian National Congress's Sital Chandra Hembram by 22,020 votes.
