Indian National Congress's Sukhbilas Barma got a total of 94,553 votes, while All India Trinamool Congress's Dharttimohan Roy secured 89,396 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Tapan Roy secured 16,029 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 46.2%, 43.6% and 7.8% respectively.
In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, Indian National Congress's Sukhbilas Barma outperformed All India Forward Bloc's Gobinda Chandra Roy by 11,051 votes.
