Actor Vikram Gokhale, best known for his appearance in Marathi theatre and Hindi films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, has been hospitalised in Pune in critical condition.

Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale, who has worked extensively in Hindi and Marathi cinema, was hopsitalised in Pune earlier this week. As per reports, he remains in critical condition. While there are no official updates on his health from the hospital, reports have said that his health has deteriorated over the last few days.

On Wednesday evening, news agency PTI reported that the actor had been “admitted to Pune's Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital a few days back”. The bulletin added that his condition remains critical. The 77-year-old had retired from Marathi theatre in 2016 due to persistent throat issues. However, there is no clarity if that illness has any connection to his current hospitalisation.

A report by Marathi outlet Navshakti mentions that he was brought to the hospital a few days ago and his condition stabilised after treatment. However, the report claimed that his condition again began to deteriorate over the past couple of days and he remains critical now. No details of his illness have been disclosed and no statement has been issued by the family or the hospital so far.

He was last seen in the Abhimanyu Dassani and Shilpa Shetty-starrer Nikamma, which was released in theatres in June this year.
