Actor Alia Bhatt announced via Instagram on Monday that her husband-actor Ranbir Kapoor and she are expecting their first child together. Days before their baby announcement, Ranbir had revealed that he could get a tattoo with their children's names. In a recent interview, the actor also shared that he did not have any tattoos, yet. However, this isn't the first time that Ranbir spoke about his 'children'. A few years ago, during the trailer launch of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ranbir had spoken about settling down in his mid-20s. Ranbir, who was 30 at the time, had said, "We are at times now where we should not give deadlines to marriage, age. When one falls in love, a wedding will happen, then children will happen. I think everything is natural progress. This is Ayan's teaching to me. When I got to know him four years back, I was in a hurry to get married. I said, 'I want to get married, I want to get married, I want to have children.' He would tell me, 'Relax, you're just starting out your career, meet people, live your life a bit then get married'."
Recently in an interview with Mashable, Ranbir was asked if he had any tattoos. He said, "None yet. Hopefully soon. The 8 or something I don't know. Maybe my (tattoo is) going to be children’s names or I don't know."
On Monday, Alia Bhatt shared a post on Instagram in which she was photographed in a hospital with Ranbir. In the photo, Alia lay on a hospital bed, smiling and looking at the monitor, during her ultrasound. The screen of the monitor was covered with a heart emoji. Ranbir sat next to the bed looking at the monitor. She also shared another photo of a lion family, where the lioness can be seen nudging the lion and the cub is looking at them. Sharing this post, Alia captioned it, "Our baby ..... Coming soon" followed by a heart and sparks emojis.

Alia's mother Soni Razdan commented, "Congratulations Mama and Papa lion". Farhan Akhtar, Anil Kapoor, and Bipasha Basu among others also congratulated the couple. Ranbir and Alia tied their knot on April 14 at Ranbir's Mumbai residence in an intimate ceremony. They dated for many years.
Meanwhile, Alia was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi. She will be next seen in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva along with Ranbir Kapoor. She also has Karan's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh. Ranbir will be next seen in Shamshera with Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. The film is all set to hit the theatres on July 22.
