'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' garners Rs 60 cr in opening weekend

The Shah Rukh Khan starrer has broken the earlier opening weekend collection records for Yash Raj Films and has surpassed 'Dhoom 2' regarded as one of the highest grossing films of all times.

Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' has broken the earlier opening weekend collection records for Yash Raj Films (YRF), the company said in Mumbai on Monday.

The film released on December 12 has grossed approximately Rs 60 crore worldwide in its opening weekend and surpassed 'Dhoom 2' regarded as one of the highest grossing films of all times.

In the Middle-east, the movie has set a new record as highest opening film of all time. While 'Dhoom 2' had generated a revenue of $ 1.86 million across its entire run 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' earned $ one million in the opening week alone, a Yash Raj spokesperson said in Mumbai on Monday.

The film has had a grand opening across all overseas markets like USA, UK, Australia, Europe, Africa and other territories in Asia, the spokesperson added.
