North East United coach Nelo Vingada joined the list of coaches unhappy with the supervision in ISL3 though it was a lot muted than how FC Goa’s Zico and Atletico de Kolkata’s Jose Molina have reacted earlier in this competition.
After stating that there is no justice in football following Thursday’s 1-1 draw against Atletico de Kolkata where North East United failed to kill the game despite looking the better team, Vingada pointed out that the assistant-referee Anil Tanwar had raised his flag before Iain Hume tapped home the equaliser in the 90th minute. He did that again once in the first half when there was foul in the ATK penalty box.
On both occasions, referee Umesh Bora had overruled Tanwar.
“I didn’t see Wellington (Priori) committing a foul for Javi Lara’s free-kick. The linesman also put his flag up and it was only in the last couple of minutes and maybe he was under pressure. But he did that once in the first half too. Maybe they were good decisions. Maybe, we lost two points because of that,” said Vingada after the match.
”I am not talking about the referee , he did generally have a good game. But the linesman cannot explain why he put his flag up when (Helder) Postiga was jumping,” said the North East United coach.

{{/usCountry}}Earlier, after a 1-1 draw against ATK, Zico had criticised the supervision in a match that had eight yellow cards and two red cards. He had said that like teams try to get good foreign players, efforts should also be made to get good foreign refereses. And after a 2-2 draw against Delhi Dynamos, Molina had made his displeasure at the decision to award the home team a penalty.
Some stringent criticism about the quality of the supervision had led to the All India Football Federation to issue a statement that it stands by the men with the whistle and their assistants.
