Haryana cow protection nodal officer Bharti Arora promoted as IGP
Haryana government on Tuesday promoted Bharti Arora, nodal officer of the Cow Protection Task Force, as Inspector General of Police.
The state government on Tuesday promoted Bharti Arora, nodal officer of the Cow Protection Task Force, as Inspector General of Police. The 1998-batch IPS officer will now be posted as IGP, state crime branch (SCB), in Gurgaon.

Arora will, however, continue to hold the charge of presiding officer, special police squad (cow smuggling) and principal and director, sports school, Rai (Sonepat), a state government spokesperson said in Chandigarh.
Arora was appointed nodal officer of the Cow Protection Task Force on July 5, her third charge after deputy inspector general of police (welfare and training), and principal of Motilal Nehru school of sports at Rai in Sonepat district.
In October 2015, Arora, the then joint commissioner of police, had levelled allegations of harassment, mental torture and interference against Gurgaon’s police commissioner, Navdeep Singh Virk in a high-profile rape case. Eventually, the state government transferred Arora out of Gurgaon posting her as deputy inspector general of police (welfare and training) at police headquarters in Panchkula
The state government also issued the transfer and posting orders of nine other IPS officers.
Saurabh Singh, deputy inspector general (DIG), security, CID on promotion has been posted as Inspector General of Police (IGP), state crime bureau (SCB) Haryana, against a vacant post. Also, Hardeep Singh Doon, superintendent of police (SP) Sonepat (in the rank of DIG), has been promoted as IGP, and posted as IGP, CTI Home Guards, against a vacant post.
“In addition, Rajinder Kumar, DIG, CID on promotion as IGP goes as IGP, CM’s Flying Squad, against a vacant post. Yoginder Singh Nehra, DIG, IRS Bhondsi on promotion as IGP has been posted as IGP, RTC Bhondsi, against a vacant post,” the statement said.
Also, Ashwin, SP Hisar goes as SP Sonepat, against a vacant post, relieving Hardeep Singh Doon. Ashok Kumar, SP State Vigilance Bureau has been posted as SP Bhiwani. Pratiksha Godara has bveen posted as Commandant 3rd Battalion, Haryana Armed Police (HAP), Hisar while Ram Kumar, Commandant 3rd Battalion, HAP, Hisar goes as SP, Police Training College, Sunaria, against a vacant post.
Rajinder Kumar Meena, Additional SP Hisar at Hansi has been posted as SP Hisar.
