Amrit Udyan all set to reopen with its summer edit: Babbling brook to shine bright

Amrit Udyan at Rashtrapati Bhavan opens to the public for its Summer Annuals edition on August 16, 2026. It runs through September 15, 2026, welcoming visitors from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily.

Get set to revisit the spellbinding beauty of Amrit Udyan as Rashtrapati Bhavan opens these gardens to the public from tomorrow (August 16). In its Summer Annuals edition, a serene new highlight will be the Babbling Brook, which features a meandering water stream, sculptural spouts, stepping stones, and a peaceful reflecting pool.

Visitors can also explore a range of interactive attractions, including the specially curated Bal Vatika for children, complete with a treehouse, Nature’s classroom, and the fascinating story of a 225-year-old Sheesham tree. A vibrant food court and ongoing exhibitions add to the experience.

Spread over a vast expanse of 15 acres, Amrit Udyan is widely celebrated as the soul of President’s house. Originally comprising the East Lawn, Central Lawn, Long Garden, and Circular Garden, the estate has expanded over time. Tenure additions under former Presidents include the Herbal Garden, Tactile Garden, Bonsai Garden, and Arogya Vanam, creating a diverse landscape of rare seasonal flora.

This time, too, to honour the contributions to the nation, the gardens will open exclusively for special groups on select dates. This includes the date of August 29 when these will be reserved entirely for sportspersons to mark National Sports Day, whereas on September 5 (Teachers’ Day) the gardens will open exclusively for teachers.

- Mobile phones are allowed but cameras (still and video both) are not allowed

- Eatables including paan, tobacco, cigarettes, and backpacks are not allowed

- Visitors are allowed to carry umbrellas, wallets, purses, handbags, water, and milk bottles for babies

- Food court is available inside

- Rain shelter and restrooms will also be set up along the route of the visitors
