New CCTV footage of Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh shows him in a shirt, pants and jacket walking down the streets of Patiala on March 19, a day after the Punjab Police launched a massive crackdown against the radical Sikh leader. While the Khalistan sympathiser remains elusive, with the police in dark about his whereabouts a week after the crackdown was launched, several CCTV footage dropped hints of Amritpal's movement.

The new CCTV footage is from March 19 when Amritpal Singh was still in Punjab.
The new CCTV footage is from March 19 when Amritpal Singh was still in Punjab.

Amritpal was seen travelling in a bike after he changed his clothes in a gurudwara, then he was seen travelling on a three-wheeler motorised cart, and then he was seen walking under an umbrella in Haryana's Kurukshetra. From Punjab, Amritpal fled to Haryana -- the police claimed connecting the dots of the CCTV footage. But the new one offers no fresh location as it is probably before Amritpal's escape from Punjab.

The clue that the new CCTV footage offers is that Amritpal was given shelter in Patiala and he changed his appearance to escape scrutiny. Punjab police have released several photos of Amritpal Singh in different looks -- with the beard, without the beard -- so that he can be caught even if he completely changes his looks.

While police suspected that from Haryana, Amritpal Singh would flee to Uttarakhand, the trail is not yet known. Meanwhile, Delhi Police and Punjab Police jointly launched a search operation in Delhi and its border after receiving intelligence inputs that Amritpal was at Delhi's ISBT bus terminal in the masquerade of a sadhu.

The Punjab Police expressed doubts about Amritpal entering the Delhi border using any vehicle other than a bus. Following the input, Delhi Police went on alert mode and are trying to track Amritpal's movements.
