Union minister Kiren Rijiju on Sunday said the government is open to discussing key issues, including Operation Sindoor, during the monsoon session of Parliament starting Monday.
Speaking at an all-party meeting convened ahead of the session, Rijiju also called for greater coordination between the government and the Opposition to ensure the smooth functioning of the House.
“We are very much open to discussing important issues like Operation Sindoor in Parliament. There should be government-opposition coordination in running Parliament smoothly,” the Union minister said.
His remarks come amid the Opposition's plans to raise the controversy surrounding US President Donald Trump’s recent claim that he mediated between India and Pakistan, leading to a cessation of hostilities.
Responding to this, Rijiju said the government would address the matter on the floor of the House.
“Govt will respond appropriately in Parliament,” he said when asked about the Opposition’s intent to bring up Trump’s remarks.
Rijiju, who also holds the portfolio of parliamentary affairs, added that the motion for the removal of Justice Varma has already gathered significant backing from lawmakers.

{{/usCountry}}The monsoon session is expected to be stormy, with several contentious issues likely to be brought up by the Opposition. The government, however, maintains it is prepared for a productive and debate-driven session.
At the all-party meeting, Opposition leaders raised a range of issues they plan to highlight in Parliament, including alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, and Trump’s mediation claim.
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said his party had demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement in Parliament on Trump’s claim, the lapses that led to the Pahalgam attack, and the ongoing SIR process in Bihar.
Sanjay Singh of the Aam Aadmi Party said he raised concerns over what he termed a “poll scam” involving the SIR exercise, and Trump's repeated assertion that he brokered a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
The all-party meeting was chaired by Union minister and Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha JP Nadda, with Kiren Rijiju and MoS Arjun Ram Meghwal representing the government.
Among those present were Congress leaders Gaurav Gogoi and Jairam Ramesh, NCP (Sharad Pawar) MP Supriya Sule, DMK’s TR Baalu, and Union minister Ramdas Athawale of the Republican Party of India (A).
