Maneka Gandhi steps in to protect women from online trolls and abuses

The Women and Child Development (WCD) has decided to crack the whip on online trolls, including getting the twitter account of the abuser suspended and action by cyber crime department of the police.

WCD minister Maneka Gandhi on Tuesday also asked women to inform her immediately when they are trolled or abused. She tweeted:

The incident was brought to Gandhi’s notice by a group of lawyers who met her on Tuesday morning and requested her to take action.

Gandhi told HT, “From now on whenever we get any such complaint we will forward it to National Commission for Women to take necessary action.
