The government also stated that Union home minister Amit Shah was ready to answer the Opposition regarding the use of excessive force during the crackdown on the CJP protest last month. However, no date was given for this reply.
Furthermore, the union home minister is expected to table key bills in the Rajya Sabha today. These are - The Kerala (Alteration of Name) Bill, 2026 and The National Co-operative Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
Meanwhile, in the Lok Sabha, union Minister G Kishan Reddy is set to introduce the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 for consideration and passing.
Protests grip parliament sessions
Since the start of the session on July 20, protests have surrounded the monsoon session.
The monsoon session of the Parliament began with the Cockroach Janta Party's 'Chalo Sansad' march and 17 days later, the proceedings of the parliament continue to be surrounded by protests from the Opposition, and now the BJP-led ruling NDA alliance.
The Opposition continued their protest on Tuesday over various issues such as the crackdown on protestors, the Ram Temple donation theft and more. However, this time the INDIA bloc was met with a counter-protest by MPs from the ruling NDA.
Several lawmakers from the NDA marched towards the Parliament’s Makar Dwar on Tuesday, carrying placards with slogans like “Grah Mantri ki Charcha se Rahul Gandhi bhago mat (Rahul Gandhi, don’t run away from Home Minister’s reply)”.

Parliament LIVE: John Brittas flags concern over BJP MP's 'lungi wala' remark
Parliament LIVE: CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas has moved a privilege motion against BJP MP Sushmita Dev, alleging that she addressed him as lungiwala during proceedings in the Upper House on Monday, August 10.
The matter was also raised in today's session in the Rajya Sabha.
"I would advise members to be careful not to hurt the sentiments and not interrupt MPs while speaking in the house," said Rajya Sabha chairman and vice president CP Radhakrishnan.
“There should be no remarks against the religious and cultural identities of our honorable members,” he added further.

Parliament monsoon session LIVE: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi after a US federal judge permanently dismissed criminal charges against Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, saying there is much more to this than meets the eye as a "compromised PM" was forced to sell India's interest.
The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha also claimed that India is paying a huge price for it.
In an X post, Gandhi shared a screenshot of a media report on the US court approving the US Justice Department's request to dismiss the charges against Adani and his nephew Sagar Adani.
"There is much more to this than meets the eye," he said in his post.
"A compromised PM was forced to sell India's interest. India is paying a huge price," the post read.

Parliament monsoon session LIVE: The government is working to build consensus on referring the contentious Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, to a joint parliamentary committee (JPC), as opposition parties, church groups and civil society organisations push back against provisions they call draconian.
Among the key concerns is the plan to empower a “designated authority” to take over, manage or sell assets built with foreign funds by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) whose licences are cancelled, suspended or not renewed.
The bill, introduced in the Lok Sabha on March 25 and still before Parliament, would also extend liability from an NGO’s direct managers to its directors and trustees. It cuts the maximum jail term for violations from five years to one, and fixes timelines for the receipt and utilisation of funds granted under the “prior permission” category.
The Union ministry of home affairs (MHA), which regulates foreign funding for NGOs, says the amendments aim to create “a comprehensive statutory framework for vesting, supervision, management and disposal of foreign contribution and assets through a designated authority, including provisional and permanent vesting”, along with rationalised penalties and mandatory central approval for launching investigations.
