A Thai woman was detained at the India-Nepal border in Maharajganj district for allegedly carrying fake Indian documents, officials said on Tuesday.

The woman, identified as Chon Yutthichiraph (32), was intercepted on Monday evening while entering India from Nepal during routine immigration checks at the Sonauli border.
Immigration officials became suspicious during questioning and allegedly recovered fake Indian documents from her possession.
She was subsequently handed over to Sonauli police for further investigation.
Police said the woman had visited India several times and travelled to Mathura and Vrindavan via Nepal.
The station house officer of Sonauli police station, Mahendra Mishra, on Tuesday said that the woman was being questioned and further action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation and verification of the documents.
