Much has been written about the camaraderie between Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu during the Prime Minister’s three-day historic visit to Israel.
The two leaders’ exuberance for warming bilateral ties has taken the form of bear hugs, greetings on social media and pledges for increased trade and cooperation. Modi and Netanyahu were seen standing ankle deep in the waters with waves lapping at their feet, engaged in what seemed like an intense discussion. Netanyahu even tweeted a picture of both of them on the beach, captioning it with “There’s nothing like going to the beach with friends!”
Twitter is abuzz with this latest testimony to their friendship. Some users seemed a little obsessed with Modi’s non-existent beach wardrobe and wet formal trousers. But mostly, they celebrated this rapport between the two world leaders and were very happy with the way Modi was pampered in Israel.
